About the Festival

Consider the magnificence of our Jewish story: our tragedies, our achievements, our deepest pains, our greatest triumphs.

Over the years, our stories have been told by word of mouth, on paper, whispered in hallways, celebrated in song – and stunningly captured on film.

Our goal is to expose the Jewish and non-Jewish community alike to the diversity of our culture, to overcome the barriers to attendance of Jewish entertainment for both the secular Jewish population and the non-Jewish population. We do this in an exciting screening environment.

For two decades, the Windsor Jewish Community Centre has proudly hosted a film festival that showcases the best of Jewish films. In 2024, we’re proud to host the 21st Annual Windsor Jewish Film Festival at the Capitol Theatre in Downtown Windsor.

Each year, the attendance to our festival grows, discovered, attended and supported by people from across Windsor-Essex, and beyond. The Windsor Jewish Film Festival is now a highly anticipated event on our community’s calendar and receives high recognition from our local news media.

This year’s event presents our usual exciting line-up of 10 films, vetted by our volunteer jury, from dozens of festival winners from around the world. As always, we will feature a great mix of drama, comedy and documentary – something for everyone, and we invite you to join us.
